As one of 4 students in the LA Intensive Workshop at Ian Roberts' studio, I completed this 40'' x 50'' painting in 4 days. My focus was on composition and layering techniques.
Because I paint outdoors more often than in the studio, I tend to complete my paintings in one session, alla prima. In this workshop I returned to the painting after it dried and layered in more texture, adding depth and interest.
